5th grade science is working on how to run a fair test, and how to identify variables. They came up with a hypothesis, made paper airplanes and then tested if paper size affected the distance their planes would fly. They ran their test in the gym by flying their airplanes and recording the data. Then they decided if their hypothesis was accepted or rejected based on their data.


8th graders have been learning about growth mindsets to start the school year. Thursday in class they discussed how we can work together and rely on others to keep a growth mindset when faced with challenges. They were challenged to stack cups without actually touching the cups.

Dates: Monday and Friday
*Days are subject to change - messages through Bound will be sent out with changes
Times: 6:00-6:50 am
Cost: $100 for the year
*Pay through Bound or by Check/Cash
*Payment needs to be made prior to student attending the first session
Location: Roland-Story High School
Purpose:
Through age-appropriate strength training, we will improve our athlete’s mental and physical ability to compete in our athletic programs.
Goals:
• Improve functional strength
• Improve Speed, Quickness, Agility, and Explosiveness
• Improve Mobility and Flexibility
• Improve Confidence & Trust in our strength and conditioning programs
• Teaching proper lifting mechanics
• Improve our ability to limit injuries
• The focus will be on mobility, flexibility, and the basics of our strength program.


Our 7th grade students got to enjoy a field trip to Jester Park this spring.
